Waves Tile

You will need blue and white worsted weight yarn and a 3.5mm hook. At the end of each row chain 1 and turn.

Begin with 25 Foundation Half Double Crochet in blue yarn. If you need any help with Foundation Stitches please refer to this post where I provide a detailed tutorial.

Row 2:

HDCx5. SCx5. HDCx5. SCx5. HDCx5

Row 3

Repeat row 2.

Pull up white on the last HDC of the row.

Row 4

Carry the blue working yarn. To carry a working yarn crochet over it so that it is tucked inside the stitch. HDCx5. SCx5. HDCx5. SCx5. HDCx5. Pull up blue on the last HDC.

Row 5

In the 3rd loop of the previous row's half double crochet, single crochet in the next 5 stitches.

In the back bump of the previous row's single crochet, half double crochet in the next 5 stitches.

SCx5. HDCx5. SCx5 across the row. Make sure to go all the way to the last back bump so that your edges are straight.

Row 6-7

SCx5, HDCx5, Scx5, HDCx5, SCx5

Pull up white on the last SC of row 7.

Row 8

SCx5. HDCx5. SCx5. HDCx5. SCx5 in white.

Row 9

In the back bump of the previous row's single crochet, HDC in the next 5 stitches. Then, in the 3rd loop of the previous row's HDC, SC in the next 5 stitches. Repeat across the row.

Repeat rows 2-9 until you have 24 rows.

Fasten off and weave in ends!
